Here is a reminder of what the wheelhouse looked like in 2008.  In the Caledonia TV film of “The First Day of Restoration”, this is referred to as “a piece of ship’s carpentry that’s certainly going to need restoration”.  (see here for the film – https://vic27.co.uk/the-restoration-begins/) 

Here are pictures of the new wheelhouse which was handmade in sections at Crinan Boatyard.  The frames are local sweet chestnut and the cladding is larch from the Isle of Mull.  The new wheelhouse for the VIC 27 was completed in 2019.
